Synopsis: A 38 year old male was driving his Chevy Silverado truck eastbound on 7300 Navajo Rd approaching a red light at 6900 Golfcrest Dr. A 38 year old female pedestrian was crossing Navajo Rd on Golfcrest Dr. with a green walk symbol. The truck ran the red light and struck the pedestrian. The pedestrian was transported to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. The driver was arrested for DUI. San Diego Police Traffic Division is investigating.

DATA COLLECTION DETIALS:
The collision occurred August 13th, 2015 and we visited August 18th, 2015. We found evidence and police evidence markings still clearly present. We drove through the collision scene capturing a series of photos to document the roadway, but due to high vehicle traffic volume, we returned the next day, August 19th and performed our documentation under better conditions.
During our August 19th visit, we performed a 10-station 3D laser scan, capturing the surface of the roadway and surrounding area, aerial photos of the intersection and collision location and a series of ground photos detailing the police evidence markings.

Laser Scan
We cannot shut down a roadway to keep vehicular traffic from passing through while we collect laser scan data. During packaging data for distribution, we perform a basic cleaning of most of the vehicular noise. For our customers who prefer all vehicular noise removed, this requires several hours of additional work and we offer this extended cleaning service at an additional fee.
