We visited the scene of the collision the next day during daylight hours.  Due to the freeway location, only video documentation was possible.  We drove through the scene twice while recording ultra-high definition video in both the #1 and #2 lanes.  The connector ramp is long, and initial reports of the collision did not identify the exact location of the collision.  For this reason, during our visit we videotaped the entire length of the connector ramp from the First Avenue onramp to the connector ramp’s termination at the 22nd Street Overpass.

CBS 8 San Diego updated their news story later in the day of our visit and we were able to identify the area identified in the map at the top of this page as the collision location.
